Breeze Ride Update

posted Apr 30, 2013, 7:34 PM by Melton Cycling Club
As you all may now be aware Babes on Bikes is now called BREEZE.
Breeze is a program by Cycling Victoria to establish a network of women's bunch rides across Victoria, led by women. Cycling Victoria have begun training female leaders (with AustCycle accreditation as well as leadership training), and provide support and networking opportunities to help establish women's only bunch rides in their local area.

We are fortunate to have our own member Samantha Sutton as one of the BREEZE Ride leaders. She is now a fully accredited L1 AustCycle Coach.
If any women out there who want to get back on a bike, meet new people, and get out into the fresh air then BREEZE Rides Western Suburbs might just be your answer.

There is a ride on the last Saturday of every month. There is also a special event ride (Anniversary BREEZE Ride) to be held 2nd of June.
There are two scheduled rides for the day. Meeting on Station Street (Maddingley Park ...Bacchus Marsh the first ride will depart at 9.30am and head out on a ride out to Lerderderg Gorge and back. (Approx 12km at an easy pace) This ride will meet with those that would like to meet at Station street at 11.00am for a nice ride up through Werribee Vale Road and back. (Approx 13km at an easy pace) Following will be a lunch to be held at Flanagans Irish Pub....so 12km or 25km - It's your choice!

A few BREEZE Ride participants have been working very hard under the guidance and coaching of Sam and will be participating in their first "organised ride" BAD Ride this Sunday 5th of May.
They are riding the 50km ride and the Melton Cycling Club wishes them all the best! There are a number of MCC members also participating in this ride!
Good Luck!
